How CoolSculpting Works to Get Rid of the Double Chin
CoolSculpting is a non-invasive fat reduction procedure that uses different applicators to apply controlled cooling to specific areas of the body. Essentially, CoolSculpting freezes away fat to get rid of the double chin.
Lipids (fats) freeze and crystallize faster than other cells, such as skin or muscle cells. At certain temperatures these fat cells can be selectively targeted without affecting or damaging surrounding body cells. Once frozen, the fat cells are then naturally processed and eliminated from the body.
Patients often ask how long it takes to get of their double chin. Due the body's natural processing limitations, the full effects are generally realized 2 to 5 months after treatment as the body flushes out the fat cells. On the other hand, changes can sometimes be seen in as little as 2 to 3 weeks. In our practice we also see the added benefit of skin tightening that goes on for up to a year.

With regard to the in-office CoolMini treatment, it can range from a few hours over 2 to 3 visits to as little as 35 minutes in the simplest cases.

The Cost of CoolSculpting Neck and Chin Fat
The cost of CoolSculpting the chin area with CoolMini can vary depending on a few factors. CoolSculpting cost is calculated by the number of areas treated and the number of cycles needed per area. For patients looking to treat a larger amount of fat, more cycles are generally required.
As a rule of thumb, the cost of using CoolMini to treat the double chin ranges from $1,500 to $3,000. In our experience some patients respond better than others due to differences in skin types, genetics, age, and their fat cells' response to cold. Some patients may require more treatment than others.
Can CoolSculpting Be Used on the Face?
In the U.S., the CoolSculpting procedure is not FDA-cleared for the treatment of the face. We advise against this for our patients due to the lack of evidence showing the safety and efficacy of treatment of this area.
