A woman’s intimate challenges should not be kept “hush-hush”, nor should they become an accepted part of life. diVa laser vaginal therapy is stimulating more open conversations about vaginal health and functionality, and how simple and easy it is to attain.
diVA is the first and only hybrid fractional laser of its kind, effectively treating vaginal tissue to counter vaginal atrophy symptoms. Women can now feel more youthful and confident – physically, emotionally, and sexually.
diVa is the latest in vaginal laser therapy development. Created by Sciton, diVa uses the revolutionary Hybrid Fractional Laser technology for Halo™ to increase vaginal lubrication and moisture, increase sensitivity and tightness, improve symptoms of urinary stress incontinence, and improve overall vaginal health and functionality.
This is the world’s only laser of its kind, using high precision automation technology to help ensure safe treatments and predictable results. diVa also utilizes dual wavelengths for maximum effect, allowing for full treatment customization to treat each patient based on their symptoms, age, and desired outcome. Dr. Elizabeth Lee is proud to be a certified provider of diVa laser vaginal therapy and invites women of all backgrounds to come in for a private consultation at her Lafayette location to see how diVa can help restore intimate confidence and function.
Numbing cream is often not required but available for those who want additional comfort; this will slightly increase treatment length. A smooth vaginal dilator is inserted to gently hold the vaginal walls firmly. This is less uncomfortable than a speculum exam. Through the clear walls of the crystal dilator, the laser emits its dual wavelengths with standardized and controlled delivery. The resurfacing wavelength will smooth the internal walls of the vagina evenly as the laser head slowly spirals within the dilator. The heating wavelength is simultaneously emitted to induce strengthening and tightening of both the interior and exterior. The combination of both, applied in a single treatment, leads to thickening of the vaginal mucosa and strengthening of the vaginal walls,
No manual manipulation by the doctor is required; the dilator is held in one position while the high precision automation technology delivers accurate and efficient results. This is all accomplished in about 3 minutes, and once the treatment is completed you are free to go about your day. Some women choose to come in for a treatment during their lunch break it’s so quick! There is little to no discomfort during the treatment; some women say they simply feel warmth.
Urinary frequency is the urge to urinate frequently throughout the day and at night. Symptoms of urinary frequency may include:
Bacterial vaginosis is the most common type of vaginal infection for women between the ages of 15 and 44. Symptoms of bacterial vaginosis include:
Vaginal atrophy is a condition where a woman’s vaginal wall becomes dry and inflamed due to decreased levels of estrogen. Symptoms of vaginal atrophy include:
Vaginal wall thinning can occur from many different factors; some of these factors include:
Seldom discussed in mixed company, women of a certain age, especially those of us who have had vaginal births, may experience lack of bladder control, leaking when coughing or sneezing, exercising or laughing, and even during sex. We may find ourselves hypervigilant in knowing where the women’s room is in every location to minimize the worry of getting there in time. This leakiness is called stress incontinence. It is caused by a combination of things; the stretching and anatomic changes of pregnancy and childbirth and genetics. While hormone changes of menopause and the loss of firmness that occurs with aging also add to stress incontinence, this symptom is not limited to older women. Those of us running after our toddlers can be leaky too. Kegels can only do so much; diVa offers an easier solution.
Many premenopausal and postmenopausal women experience a significant decrease in estrogen levels, thinning or atrophy of the vaginal walls and mucosa causing symptoms of dryness, itching, painful and difficult sex. Not only can it be emotionally and physically bothersome, but vaginal health may start to decline. The diVa vaginal laser applicator was created to address these issues that naturally occur with age. Dryness and laxity are improved with a treatment, and lubrication and sensation are heightened.
Childbirth stretches the vaginal canal, and while those tissues tighten and heal over time, they never regain pre-pregnancy tautness. diVa is designed with this problem in mind, countering the symptoms of vaginal stretching that occur after giving birth.
Other candidates for diVa treatments include those who’ve experienced great fluctuations in weight or hormonal changes. These changes can throw off estrogen levels, causing vaginal atrophy. Candidates for diVa can also experience vaginal atrophy symptoms with no diagnosed cause.
Any of the above may cause women to be hesitant or feel self-conscious when engaging in sexual activities. If you are suffering from vaginal atrophy and wish for an easy and effective solution, look no further than ArtfulSurgery for diVa laser vaginal therapy.
Labiaplasty is a surgical procedure that enhances the aesthetic appearance of the labia minora, but it does not improve interval vaginal canal health and laxity. The procedure removes extra labia minora tissue with a specialized technique to create a neat, proportional vaginal region. While the improvement of the labia minora can sometimes reduce symptoms such as discomfort or decreased sensation, symptoms of dryness, thinning, and urinary incontinence will not be addressed. A benefit of diVa laser treatments is while the dilator is inserted, the vaginal lips are consequently treated as well, improving some external laxity and sensation.
Other vaginal rejuvenation lasers emit single wavelength energy compared to diVa’s synergistic dual wavelengths. Single wavelength laser treatments could potentially cause more harm than good since there is minimal to no customization abilities, meaning all conditions for all patients would be treated similarly. The additional diVa coagulation wavelength makes for little to no bleeding and rapid healing.
diVa utilizes advanced Hybrid Laser Resurfacing technology, meaning that unlike typical resurfacing lasers that remove the entire treatment area’s surface, diVa selectively resurfaces narrow diameter channels, treating only an evenly distributed necessary fraction of tissue to allow for faster healing with maximum benefit.
DiVa is applied in a quick, and fully automated process. The laser spirals to provide smooth and even treatment, unlike the other vaginal rejuvenation lasers that require manual maneuvering and often yield less than even treatment coverage. While other lasers may require 25-45 minutes to treat, diVa is done in under 5 minutes.
Healthy women of all ages can be candidates for diVa laser vaginal therapy treatments. The treatment is generally sought by women experiencing painful or uncomfortable intercourse, decreased sensation, itching or dryness, vaginal laxity, and/or urinary incontinence. Serious or subtle as the symptoms of vaginal health may be, they can affect how we feel and the ease with which we move through our day. diVa is a great solution for women seeking a non-hormonal, non-surgical, easily tolerated minimal to no downtime solution to the changes that can make sex uncomfortable and affect daily life.

She will perform an examination to assess your condition, and from her findings she can customize a treatment specially for you. Feel free to contact us today and request a consultation with Lafayette and Bay Area’s diVa expert Dr. Elizabeth Lee.
There is no downtime required after a diVa treatment, woman can return to their daily routine. A pad may be provided for potential discharge which will subside in about a day. The skin may slightly swell as the tissue is heated; this is referred to as “happy edema” because it’s a signal that the vaginal tissue is responding well. Patients can resume sexual activity the following day unless otherwise instructed; this will depend on the case.
Many patients experience noticeable improvement after the first treatment. Optimal improvement of vaginal tone and health are achieved with a series of three, spaced 6 weeks apart. Ideal results are achieved one month following the third treatment as the body’s restorative processes respond to the stimulation of diVa’s dual mode. A single maintenance treatment at 6 month intervals preserves long lasting results.
